MyMedicare - Upcoming telehealth patients who are not MyMedicare registered

Identify upcoming telehealth appointments that may not be eligible for MyMedicare incentives for longer telephone consults or triple incentive for longer telehealth consults.

This metric identified patients who have upcoming telehealth appointments but may not be eligible for MyMedicare incentives for longer telephone consults or triple incentives for longer telehealth consults. MyMedicare registration status is from your latest CSV upload of MyMedicare Registered patients

From November 2023, patients will unlock access to extended (Levels C and D) MBS-funded telephone consultations with their registered general practice. This offers patients the advantage of having more in-depth conversations over telehealth about their health without needing to physically visit the practice.

Additionally, certain demographics such as Children under 16, Pensioners, and other Commonwealth concession card holders who are registered through MyMedicare, will gain access to a triple bulk billing incentive. This applies to longer (Levels C, D, and E) MBS telehealth consultations.

NOTE! One important thing to note is that these rebates will only be claimable by patients who are registered with your practice through MyMedicare. This is another significant reason for patients to consider registering with MyMedicare, and for practices to encourage their patients to do so.

The Administration/Reception team can utilise this metric to:

a) The patient can be advised that if they register they will have access to extended telehealth consultations

b) You can identify patients with certain demographics such as Children under 16, Pensioners, and other Commonwealth concession card holders to register your practice to unlock the triple bulk billing incentives

c) The practitioner is aware prior to offering extended telehealth consultations

Understanding the Metric and Key Components

NOTE! In order to see the metrics relating to MyMedicare registered patients you will need to export this data from Proda and import it into Cubiko. Please see step-by-step instructions on how to do this here - Guide to Exporting and Importing the CSV Patient List for MyMedicare into Cubiko.

This function is available to Halo customers only.

The list will reflect Telehealth/telephone appointments only by default. This filter will be applicable to any appointment that has been accordingly marked as a Telehealth appointment in your Cubiko settings. If this does not appear to be showing all of your Telehealth/ Telephone appointments use the filter "Select appointment type" and manually select your Telehealth appointments.

Use this list alongside the list within the metric "Appointments that may not be eligible for Medicare-subsidised telehealth services". This metric identifies patients who have not visited the practice for a face-to-face consult in the past 12 months are no longer eligible for bulk-billed telehealth services.

Using the Metric and Data in Your Practice

Look at this at least weekly to look ahead and flag appointments so that:

    a) The patient can be advised that if they register they will have access to extended telehealth consultations

    b) You can identify patients with certain demographics such as Children under 16, Pensioners, and other Commonwealth concession card holders to register your practice to unlock the triple bulk billing incentives

    c) The practitioner is aware prior to offering extended telehealth consultations

Step 1: Filter the date you would like to look at using the "Select date" filter. You can select multiple dates here. You may wish to look ahead for one week.

Step 2: You can filter the list via Practitioner so you can view one Practitioner list at a time by using the "Select Practitioner" filter

Step 3: The list will reflect Telehealth/telephone appointments only by default. This filter will be applicable to any appointment that has been accordingly marked as a Telehealth appointment in Cubiko settings. If this does not appear to be showing all of your Telehealth/ Telephone appointments use the filter "Select appointment type" and manually select your Telehealth appointments.

Step 4: Use the download arrow on the top right to print out your list and flag in your Practice Management software.

TOP TIP! Be sure to look at the appointment length column to flag any appointments that are booked for extended consultation and are not eligible to be claimed for that item.
