Reduce costly admin time with Cubiko QuickCheck so your team can spend more time with patients
This feature is available to our Best Practice software integration customers.
What is QuickCheck?
Cubiko QuickCheck is an add-on for existing Cubiko customers. With QuickCheck, a viewer can select up to 100 patients with an appointment within the next 2 weeks who are potentially eligible for a service opportunity. Knowing with certainty if they are eligible and have not yet been billed at another practice. Eligibility checks can be performed on appointments scheduled within the next 3 days.
NOTE: If you already have QuickCheck enabled at your practice please view our How to use QuickCheck knowledge base guide here.

Pricing for QuickCheck
QuickCheck is a paid add-on for existing Cubiko subscriptions.
The cost of QuickCheck is $50 per practice per month. A practice is defined as a Cubiko account that ties to the physical address of a practice entered when getting started with QuickCheck.
QuickCheck has been built using a Services Australia Certified API, which charges Cubiko additional fees per practice. Cubiko incurs costs for conducting the checks on a per-practice basis. We thought the fairest thing to do was to make the feature an add-on so Practices that benefit the most from the feature could decide to upgrade and add QuickCheck to their subscription.
How will I be charged for QuickCheck?
You will be charged for QuickCheck once you have access to the feature.
A new subscription for QuickCheck will be added to your existing payment details on file with Cubiko, on either a monthly or annual payment, as per your preference entered.
Calculating Return on Investment with QuickCheck
QuickCheck is a paid add-on for any practice using Best Practice with a Cubiko subscription. It costs $50 + GST per practice per month.
We've created a return on investment calculator which can be found via the homepage > QuickCheck tab > QuickCheck cabinet.
This calculator takes into account your written-off invoices for the relevant QuickCheck item numbers and rejections where a relevant QuickCheck item was rejected and then not subsequently put through again for that item, for that patient on that day.
TOP TIP! Enter how many hours your nursing or other staff may spend doing PRODA checks for the relevant QuickCheck item numbers and their average wage per hour. If QuickCheck can save you time, hopefully, that lets your team spend more time with patients!
What you need to know before upgrading
QuickCheck is a paid add-on for existing Cubiko subscriptions.
QuickCheck has been built using a Services Australia Certified API which charges Cubiko additional fees per practice. Your practice data, patient Medicare number, and the General Practitioner's Medicare provider number for that appointment are sent in a secure message to the Services Australia Certified API. This API then returns the result of whether the patient is eligible for that relevant QuickCheck item number on the appointment date.
Cubiko does not store the Medicare numbers of the patient. Instead, an instantaneous request to your server via Halo Connect is sent to retrieve that patient's Medicare number. It is then sent in the request to the Services Australia Certified API and deleted.
What item numbers are available in QuickCheck?
Not all Medicare item numbers are available in QuickCheck. The available item numbers are:
Chronic Disease Management:
- 721 - GPMP
- 723 - TCA
- 732 - Review
- 2700 - MHTP (without training 20-39 min)
- 2701 - MHTP (without training >40 min)
- 2712 - MHTP Review
- 2715 - MHTP (with training 20-39 min)
- 2717 - MHTP (with training >40 min)
TOP TIP! When checking mental health treatment plan items with Medicare, as we are checking all items at the same time, Medicare will only show the longest-timed appropriate mental health plan item number as eligible (e.g. based on whether the doctor has mental health training or not), even though both items will be eligible.
For example, checking 2715 and 2717 will return 2717 as eligible but either one can be billed. If none are returned as eligible then no mental health treatment plan item is eligible to be billed with Medicare.
NOTE: Cubiko is limited by our integration with the Services Australia Certified API for which item numbers we can run through QuickCheck. There is currently no planned development for an expansion of which items can be checked. Although we do hope that in the future we can bring more item numbers to QuickCheck!
What appointments can I check?
The current functionality of QuickCheck appointments looks at patient appointments where a patient may already be potentially eligible for the relevant QuickCheck item numbers with an appointment within the next 2 weeks.
A patient without an upcoming appointment in the next 2 weeks can be checked using our QuickCheck patient search feature.
TOP TIP! QuickCheck uses one of Cubiko's most popular metrics, Possible Service Opportunities Today, to find a curated list of patients who may be eligible for MBS items.
Your team can use this list in QuickCheck appointments daily to verify patient Medicare eligibility and whether or not they have been billed for that service at another practice already.
QuickCheck patient search allows MBS item eligibility checks on any patient at the practice, excluding patients who are recorded in the PMS as inactive, deceased or have elected to opt out of de-identified data extraction.
Setting up access for Viewers to QuickCheck
QuickCheck cabinet is an additional permission setting for all Viewers of your Cubiko dashboard. This means you can customise who has access to perform and view QuickCheck results in your practice.
