What is the General Practice Aged Care Incentive Metric?
Starting August 1, 2024, the General Practice Aged Care Incentive (GPACI) became available for Practices and Practitioners who meet the requirements outlined in these guidelines from the Department of Health and Aged Care.
Customers must check the eligibility and servicing requirements of their registered patients on a patient-by-patient basis in HPOS for the General Practice Aged Care Incentive, specifically to understand the date from which a patient was registered for this incentive.
Cubiko assumes one of four available start dates for enrollment in the GPACI, based on the patients MyMedicare registered date. If the MyMedicare registration date falls within a historic 12 month cycle, Cubiko assumes that the patient has been re-enrolled for the GPACI and is still on track to receive the services outlined under the GPACI. The Responsible Provider cannot currently be determined from the data available in the PMS.

The per patient amount considers the incentive loadings that your practice would recieve if it is in a MMM 3 to MMM 7 region as follows:
- MMM 3: 20% loading
- MMM 4 and MMM 5: 30% loading
- MMM 6 and MMM 7: 50% loading

This figure shows the number of patients who fulfill the GPACI practice incentive eligiblity criteria for the current quarter.
This depends on the quarter that the patient is in:
- If the patient is in Q1, Q2 or Q3 then they need to have had 2 regular services completed (each in seperate months of the quarter).
- If the patient is in Q4 then they need to have had 8 regular services (each in seperate months) and 2 care plans (each in a seperate month) completed by the end of this quarter.
