TOP TIP! If your variance figure is negative, use the next metric "Further booking required" to see how many appointments the practice still needs to book to meet the target calculated above. You can also use the graph on the page "Appointments to meet billings target vs current bookings" to identify particular periods of time where the appointments required to meet billings targets are higher and investigate why that may be, perhaps a Practitioner on leave or practice closure?
Further bookings required
This metric represents the number of appointments your practice still needs to book to meet the target calculated to the left. Click the title to be taken to "unbooked appointments" to see which of your practitioners still has empty appointment slots to book more appointments.
TOP TIP! Please see our knowledge base article "Unbooked appointments" to see how to use this data to identify those Practitioners with available appointments to be booked to help you meet your target.
You can use our item eligibility metrics, such as Item 721 to recall patients to fill up those empty appointment times.
Appointments to meet billings target vs current bookings
This metric represents the number of appointments needed to meet your billing target and how many appointments are currently booked.
TOP TIP! Use this graph to see what days/weeks/months need the most attention and to better understand WHY your further bookings required may be higher than usual.
For example, using the graph above, 01.05.2023 has 0 appointments currently booked and would require 92 to meet the target, however, this is a public holiday so this could contribute to the further bookings required number being higher. You may also notice this on another day and can investigate if you perhaps have Practitioners away or it is quieter than usual and you can have your practice team look into recalling patients for other services whilst appointments are available and needing to be filled.
