Practice Income
Practice Income in Calculate gives you full visibility of both practitioner and practice-level revenue, helping you understand how income flows through your business.
Practice Income refers to revenue assigned directly to your practice, rather than individual practitioners, in your Best Practice database. With this release, Calculate automatically extracts and recognises this income, allowing you to track practice-level earnings alongside practitioner income within your Fee Runs.
This helps you see the complete financial picture of your practice, improve reporting accuracy and simplify reconciliation.

Assigning a Calendar to Your Practice
- Go to Settings > Practices.
- Click Edit on your practice.
- Select an Assigned Calendar from the dropdown menu.
- Click Save.
Once assigned, your practice income will follow the same period and income basis as that calendar, ensuring your reporting aligns with practitioner Fee Runs.

Managing Multiple Practices in a Single Database
Calculate supports defining multiple practices within a single Best Practice database. This allows you to separate income reporting for different business units or locations.
To configure your practice structure:
- Navigate to Settings > Practices > PMS Instances.
- Select Create Practice.
- Choose either a single location or a subset of locations from your Best Practice database.
- Save your configuration.
By default, Calculate treats all locations within a database as one practice, which is suitable for most users.

Defining multiple practices within a single database may have implications across Calculate. If you are unsure whether this setup is required, or need assistance implementing these changes, please contact our support team for guidance.
